Add Shop Buddy to Claude, ChatGPT, or your coding agent

Then ask for a change in plain English. Every change is made on a private copy of your theme, you see before-and-after screenshots, and nothing goes live until you tap Publish.

Use it from Claude or ChatGPT

No coding tools needed. You add Shop Buddy as a connector once, then talk to it like anything else in the chat.

Claude (web or desktop)

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector. Name it Shop Buddy and paste the URL below.
  3. Click Add, then Connect. A tab opens: choose Continue with Shopify (or create an account) and click Allow.

The Free plan allows one custom connector.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode (paid plans).
  2. Choose Create. Name it Shop Buddy, paste the URL below, and pick OAuth for authentication.
  3. Click Create, then Connect. A tab opens: choose Continue with Shopify (or create an account) and click Allow.

Menu names are as of September 2026 and may move.

Then say

  • “Connect my store.” The first time, Shop Buddy hands you a page where you paste a Theme Access password from Shopify. About three minutes, done in your browser, never through the chat.
  • “Change my announcement bar to say free shipping over $75 and show me before and after.”
  • “My store shows: Liquid error (sections/header line 515): Could not find asset snippets/icon-caret.liquid. Fix it.”

You get a preview link, screenshots, and a one-tap publish link. Roll back with one tap.

Use it from a coding agent

Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, or Codex. The agent signs in through your browser: click Allow in the tab that opens. No keys.

Opens Cursor and adds the server. Approve in the browser tab that follows.
