Will this break my live store?

No. Your live theme is never edited directly. Every change is made on an unpublished copy, checked with Shopify Theme Check, and screenshotted before and after. It goes live only when you tap Publish, and the previous theme is kept so rollback is one tap.

Do I need to know code?

No. You describe the change in plain English. The assistant does the editing on the copy, and you review pictures of the result, not code.

How is this different from editing the code in Shopify's theme editor?

Shopify's code editor edits the theme you have open, and if that is your live theme the change is live the moment you save. Shop Buddy always works on a copy, validates the change, shows you screenshots, and waits for your approval.
